SUMMARY:Plugs for the Prairies: Barr
DESCRIPTION:Help restore native prairie habitat to the Rice Lake Plains! Historically\, the area was dominated by massive black and white oak\, thriving switchgrass and big bluestem\, and a diverse range of wildflowers. Today\, these natural environments are badly fragmented and overgrown with non-native species. Give this globally rare habitat an edge on its competition by planting native vegetation on the Nature Conservancy of Canada's Barr Property. \n\n\n\nIf you’re interested in carpooling with other volunteers (driving\, or catching a ride) please click here. Happy travels! \n\n\n\nQuestions?Contact Val Deziel\, Coordinator\, Conservation Biology: val.deziel@natureconservancy.ca

SUMMARY:Plugs for the Prairies: Hazel Bird – Part 4
DESCRIPTION:Help restore rare prairie habitat to the Rice Lake Plains! Historically\, the Rice Lake Plains were covered with tall grass prairies and oak savannah\, which were dominated by massive black and white oak\, grasses like big bluestem and switchgrass thrived and a diverse range of wildflowers blossomed. Today\, the oak savannah and tall grass prairie of the Rice Lake Plains are badly fragmented and overgrown with non-native species. Help give this globally rare habitat a comeback by helping us plant native prairie species plugs at the Hazel Bird Nature Reserve.
